Below is a list of the available affect flags for objects (these flags are identical to the affect flags in the mobiles section.)
A* | blind | Mobile is blinded |
B | invisible | Mobile is invisible |
C | detect evil | Mobile can sense evil |
D | detect invis | Mobile can see invisible |
E | detect magic | Mobile can see magic |
F | detect hide | Mobile can see hidden (sneaking/hiding) characters |
G | detect good | Mobile can sense good |
H | sanctuary | Mobile is protected by a sanctuary spell |
I* | faerie fire | Mobile is surrounded by faerie fire (a hindrance) |
J | infravision | Mobile can see heat sources in the dark |
K | curse | Mobile is cursed |
L | camouflaged | Mobile is camouflaged |
M* | poisoned | Mobile is poisoned |
N | protect evil | Mobile takes less damage from evil characters |
O | protect good | Mobile takes less damage from good characters |
P | sneaking | Mobile is sneaking (hard to detect while moving) |
Q | hiding | Mobile is hiding (cannot be seen without detect hidden) |
R* | sleep | Mobile is affected by the sleep spell |
S* | charm | Mobile is charmed (rather senseless, because there is no charmer...) |
T | flying | Mobile is flying |
U | pass door | Mobile can walk through closed doors |
V | haste | Mobile is affected by a haste spell |
W* | calm | Mobile is affected by calm |
X* | plaque | Mobile is plaqued (and infecting!) |
Y* | weaken | Mobile is affected by weaken |
Z | dark vision | Mobile can see in the dark without a light source |
a* | berserk | Mobile is permanently berserking |
b | swimming | Mobile is swimming (or capable of swimming) |
c | regeneration | Mobile recovers hit points and mana faster than usual |
d | slow | Mobile is affected by slow |
* items will be detrimental to the character, possibly for cursed items.
Examples:
F A 2 3 V | dex+3 and AFF_HASTE |
F A 0 0 CDEFG | a true sight item |
F I 0 0 CD | immune to weapons and magic! :) |
Know that the second letter in each of the above examples corresponds to these meanings:
A = affect
I = immunity
R = resistance
V = vulnerability
For obvious reasons, be VERY careful in creating permanent affected items. A permanent sanctuary item, for instance, would be of questionable balance and will likely be stripped from your area unless you have some extreme justification for it.
